I like to imagine that before Sauron’s downfall Aule gets to see his former apprentice again… even if after all the war and madness Sauron probably can’t even see him, let alone recognize him… In his mind Sauron is probably still stuck in Middle Earth AND I HAVE A LOT OF PAPA AULE FEELS, OK GUYS?I promise to lay off the doom and gloom for the next post

I feel so bad for Aule: not only did two of his Maiar abandon him and turn evil; but he was forced to watch as his dwarf children suffered, unable to help them. Between Tolkien’s Aule and Greek Mythology’s Hephaestus, I can’t help but wonder if forge gods as a class are destined for suffering.
