Description
Teaser sketch for a little something which may or may not become a new little project for me (wonder if you can guess the fandom ) as well as a special birthday gift for my mother.
Recently, I've discovered that I've become bad, and I mean REALLY bad with human anatomy. It's like I've forgotten the few basic things I DID knew about it! Perhaps I did...Which - I am sorry to say - depressed me beyond reason Which is why, in one desperate attempt to regain my sanity, took out my sketchbook and started doodling some poses. One of them stroke me as ... "humanly possible" and I wanted to polish it up a bit. The result stand before you
Now, this work here shouldn't have been posted at all. There are lots of things that I don't like about it, namely the bridge and the willow leafs as well as a couple more details in the background, but I have become terribly pleased with the water and the folds on her dress. FINALLY! I can draw material! (minus her scarf, that looks like it's made of paper). All in all, I liked the outcome too much not to share it with you
The pic itself though has quite a story behind it, but I'm not spoiling anything just yet. I'll give you a hint though: the title says a lot.
Oh! And one small pretty quick question: did anyone ever notice that fireflies usually glow in a very greenish/yellowish kind of way, and not orange-yellow like?
Note: there will be no other major projects going on until the completion of Whispers in the Dark - the story will be finished before starting off anything else.
That being said, I wish you good night and may thy dream of fireflies!
EDIT: Wow, you guys sure are perceptive Yes, you guessed right. Stay toned for the next couple of weeks for teaser sketches for the characters if you happen to be a fan (and also to find out who the hell this one here is )
EDIT 2: Changed a few things which have been bugging me for some time. I sure hope it's for the better and that I haven't overdone anything. Namely: touched up the bridge, polished the leafs a bit and added more fireflies!

You need to watch the motion picture of the same name. It's absolutely heart-wrenching and beautifully directed. I extremely recommend this film.
